Perhaps they are concerned about wet slides during peak heat in the afternoon? From Alta on FB:
Due to the unseasonably warm weather, Wildcat lift and Collins Gulch will close at 2pm on Thursday, March 26th.
• Wildcat lift will be open from 9:15am–2pm
• Collins lift will be open from 9:15am–4:30, with access to Albion Basin only after 2pm
• Supreme, Sugarloaf and Sunnyside will operate as usual
We will provide any further updates to this plan on our social channels and Alta.com.
Thanks for your patience and understanding while we make a few heat-related adjustments to our operations. We hope to return to our regularly scheduled program as soon as we can.❄
At Snowbird? Looked like Mineral may not have even opened today. My dad beat me by a day and said Alta was great today 11-1 but he mainly sticks to cruising at this point.Slides everywhere already...
Small section but they kept it open yesterday. All in all it was a great day out there yesterday. Front side from 12-2 was great, wish they would stay open until 3 but no complaints. Rasta chutes, regulator, great Scott all skiing very well and even the bump runs on lower Peruvian were pleasant through end of day. Didn’t make it over to the gad side at all. Mineral in the morning was fine by 10 and was fine enough but very crowded.Slides at s bird..road to provo slid.
At alta backside did and some off the high T.
Hope it works out well. Evan was happier having potential snowfall to talk about. I arrive at Alta Lodge on April 5.This storm..Will be interesting!
