    St-Sauveur - april 30th

Way too much snow to be the end... but it was... the last day of the season in the province I enjoyed quite a nice afternoon, with weather closing on the 70s. The snow was nice, the West 70 was super well covered, although the Nordique was closing on the end in several spots. No walking...

name of ski area next to wind farm in Canada

I may have missed something... but unless you put the link yesterday, Mt Miller was already on your map... at Murdochville, in eastern Gaspesia. However, I noticed that you don't have Mt Béchervaise (±1000' high, 14 trails, 4 surface lifts), way farther east, next to Gaspé. About 15 zoneskiers...

Laurentian ( Quebec ) Tremblant to MSSI Report

These pics from Alta really shows how much snow they got in the laurentian's snowbelt this year... really amazing to see all that natural snow left while there is about nothing left in the townships or new england (except the snow from yesterday)

Snow continues to be dumped on Gaspesia... 14" today

A little follow up of the situation in the province : Since our visit in early february, Val D'Irene in Gaspesia has received something like 10 feet of snow and nothing has melt up to now. Today, they have received another 14" and I guess that the actual snowstorm could leave out there another...

    Alta, Quebec

Nice to see that the conditions are still correct, despite the heat and the rain. I hope to be there sunday, for probably the last weekend of the season... It's still weird, 50% of the ski areas in the laurentians are now closed for the season, but Alta without snowmaking is still open at...

    Canadian Ski Resorts and Snowmaking

Hi Jon I guess this conversation is more appropriate in the eastern section of the forum (EDIT : thanks for the move, Marc or Tony), but here is my thoughts at this level. Most of the eastern canadian ski areas have some snowmaking, but it's not something necessary everywhere, no matter the...

    Snowcat skiing in Quebec

It's very expensive, though, considering the limited terrain accessible, isn't it ? In the coming years, it could become more interesting though... Actually, I think that the car rides at Val d'Irène are the best to try here ;) As they got 28" of fresh since a few days, a couple guys from...

Laurentian ( Quebec ) Tremblant to MSSI Report

Definitively, on this point, Spensar, Mt Blanc will be more interesting (at least in the official trails) Mt Blanc has some narrow trails, some wider (some way too wide also). It offers some very correct steeps and a lot more challenge than St-Sauveur does. For the vertical, it's about the...
