Shefford, QC, march 4 - 20-30" deep powder

These trails haven't been skied so far this year, I think, so the snow in the past 2 weeks has accumulated + the wind is pushing the snow exactly in that direction, so I guess it's why this part of the mountain had the best snow, clearly over 40cm... Yeah, I'm sure that if Shefford got that...

Laurentian ( Quebec ) Tremblant to MSSI Report

Just a quick answer to this. The Mount Blanc lie on their vertical. We measured it with Altimeters, GPS, topo maps and all of them agree on a 650' vertical instead of 1000'... so it's about the same height than Edelweiss, in fact. Although the mountain is not high, there is a good diversity of...

Shefford, QC, march 4 - 20-30" deep powder

I didn't think that there was so much new snow, at Shefford... what a surprise it was to enjoy some powder up to the hips in the glades of the upper part of the mountain. The lower mountain was really poor in snow, though. Some guys from ZoneSki have cleared a new mountainside, this summer...

    Mount Washington/ Tucks................Where's the posts?

According to the latest avalanche bulletin of the Gaspesia avalanche center (jan 31, 2006), the actual snowdepth at 2000' (mid-mountains) is only 37 inches... which seems to me EXTREMELY low for this time of the year, effectively... You can have an english report here (PDF) for jan 31...

    Solitude, UT 1/28/2006

Considering this guy has skied 20 years at La Réserve (would be 30 if the ski area hadn't close for 10 years), I'm not surprised that he has passed most of his day in Honeycomb canyon... ;) They were at Deer Valley yesterday and today they were at Alta

Saturday's storm track over Laurentian snow zone

It was definitively awesome, this 12" of snow at Alta today, in the snowbelt... no wet snow there, it was all fluffy... just perfect to enjoy it after all the rain of the past 2 weeks ! No video for me this weekend, as we were there only for 3 hours, but I guess this could give you an idea of...

Here is a few pics showing the kind of ski that you can get there (from march 2005) : Patrick, I think these pics may show better the kind of snow & terrain than the report of Lucky Luke, which was more a "family report", so I finally put a few pics of Bendude...

20" deep of "champagne" powder... Video time!

Hey guys !! Long time no see... after almost 10 days in Charlevoix without internet... So yes, on the dec 26 storm, we got 20" of snow and absolutely no liquid. I skied the Mont Grand Fonds ski area 3 times in the week and did a little video of dec 27 (with all the snow) and dec 30. The snow...

20" deep of "champagne" powder... Video time!

20" deep of "champagne" powder... Video time!

ok, let's say then that it was some "champagne powder" for some Quebec chowder ;) Looks like it was way more fluffy than in the other places where we've seen some videos. I guess it's with the higher elevation + particular microclimate of the area... anyway, sorry if the word wasn't the best...
