I was on that hill around 10:45. I found it to alternate between ice and really sticky heavy stuff...I almost came out of my ski once. That was all the experience I needed and headed to chair 3. As I mentioned, the conditions on skyline were amazingly good as compared to what I expected. I skied top to bottom on those runs until my legs were cashed.I went Thursday, too. What time did you hit 4? I was over there from about 9:45 to maybe noon, and it was really good.

Friday sounds like a better day, but I am trying to go once a week and tomorrow is my only day -- thanks!

I doubt a person unfamiliar with Baldy would realize just how thin "thin cover" means in the Baldy lexicon, especially as it relates to Chair 1. It's not a rock here and there. To me, it's been "walk-out" bad for at least a week. I have a date coming with P Tex thanks to riding to the bottom on the Tuesday following the last storm. (Well, on second thought, it could have been the drainage runout earlier in the day.) That was Jan. 4. Now I am not the most technically able rider, but I had no qualms about downloading on the 13th. Just about everyone else did, too.
Chair #1: open for scenic rides to the Monster Tubing Park and the Top of the Notch Restaurant. Skiing and boarding down to the parking lot for experts only- thin and rocky at the bottom.Must walk out.
