If I was going to travel this weekend to find good snow in the glades, I would recommend Killington, Sugarbush or even Mt Snow. Mt Snow got more snow than the other areas (b/c the storm center was further south) and they have nice low angle glades that would hold snow nicely.
Since you are coming from the north, Mt Snow may not be a great option as it is much further, but I think you'll find some nice skiing at Sugarbush and Mad River Glen (if you are not a snowboarder) as well.
Gore Mtn in NY has some good snow too, and 4 official glades are open there.
At nearly all of these places, in the glades, you will find all kinds of obstacles and potential core shots lurk. The base was not substantial even though there was a lot of snow in the last 2 weeks. The snow was very light and doesn't cover up these things very well. Just be careful and I'd recommend not using your brand new skis in the glades.
