actually i hit the 23rd of feb as well with 20 inches at the rivah where it snowed more than points west.

Revisionist history. Only 20"? That's the storm where Jay Peak got 6 feet of snow and the entire Green Mountain ridge line from Killington on up saw the orographic lift that produced at least 4 feet of snow.

I agree with your assertion that there are times where you want to be able to cherry pick southern Vermont and Maine rather than sit at Stowe or Jay Peak waiting for it to snow. There are plenty of storm tracks that don't leave much in the northern Greens.

maine and points east got hit with a big dump 1st b4 things kicked in in vermont the next day and beyond. and then vermont did get the mutha load. so if you were in maine on the monday, you'da had the goods and vermont beyond that. i can't remember where i skied on the wed/thurs of that week as i would've been off those days. probably back up on mt washington scoring more deserted pow.
