Think that I'll add my resorts to the list (though they are no where near as long

Ontario:
Blue Mountain
Earl Bales
Centennial
Mt St Louis/Moonstone
Horseshoe Valley
Devil's Glen
Talisman
and one name I can't remeber

Quebec
Tremblant
Stoneham
St Anne
Mt Garceau
Mt. St. Marrie
Orford

Alberta:
Marmot Basin
Sunshine Village
Lake Louise

BC:
Blackcomb
Red Mountain
Silver Star

Vermont:
Killington

so that's only 21..
let's see, if i'm almost 25, then i'll be almost 125 by the time i reach 100 ski resorts!

The township areas should have similar snow conditions to Jay, as they are visible from Jay and lower altitude. There were some NASJA people on a pre-trip to the townships last March, and they had the same T-shirt weather I had at Stowe and MRG (and observed its impact at Jay). But the impact of that heat wave was much less in the Quebec City region.

From the perspective of this group, it sounds like I sampled the right Vermont areas (my choice)but the wrong Quebec ones (Stoneham, St. Anne, Le Massif, Grands-Fonds, arranged by NASJA).

<!-Quote-!>Quote:
The pic and description of Countour remind me of my favorite trail at Sugarbush. I'll bet you guys know the run I'm talking about. I've been known to say, " You don't ski it. It skis you."<!-/Quote-!>

If it's on-map, it's Rumble. Aah, Rumble...the last time I skied it was in thigh-deep after a depressing night of pouring-down rain below the bottom bullwheel of Castlerock followed by a deep freeze just before dawn. What a pleasant surprise to find on the hill! (The rest of the world, save for a few locals, was too surprised to get out of bed in the a.m. to find it.)

Rumble it is! Give the man a cigar. One time, many moons ago, a friend and I skied Rumble 4 runs in a row.

Rumble is on my wish list.
Although I would probably more compare it to the Chevreuil or the Écureuil, as what I've heard of the Rumble.

Hey, talking of that, they cut the grass in the glades of Mt Orford, so on the next swampfest, there will not be a lot of branches in the snow. I hiked up the Passe de l'Ours and hiked down the... Écureuil (WOW !!!!!!!) Man it's extremely impressive in summer... I can't wait to ski it ! I should count the number of places where it's passing between some cliffs ... 32 places ? lol

Massif du Sud, Édouard and Sutton. Never went to Eddy. Sutton : not really some glades, except the upper Boubou, the S-B Poma and the off-trails inbound and on the backside. Ask Max if you want to find some spots... he will certainly be there if you go ;) MDS : Unique place in the province. The most snow in the province, a northfacing 2nd mountain with huge glades of 1000' high with an average steepness well over 60% (up to 75% I think for #7). This is just 1300' high, but you don't care of the vertical when you're there !

Tony : I think you got a badluck in QC skiing. Grand Fonds too wet and Stoneham too hard, if I remember your reports (and I don't for the 2 other ones). This is not Utah (or California of course) but we normally (or at least frequently) have some very good skiing IMO.

Jonny : I'm still surprised that you skied Mt Garceau... mid-average mountain here... but what an incredible scenery, I admit ! Don't you worry for the nb of ski areas... just move to QC or New England and you'll have a big choice :-ppp. No without joking, you know that on a trip out west or even Europe, it's really fast to increase the number of areas skied !

Anonymous : another thing : about the townships, the advantage of the place is that you will be understood without problem in english. Ask Marc if it's the same thing at Le Valinouet or le Massif du Sud ! hehe
