How will ski areas fare with 5.00/gallon gas

How about $1.59 last night

Whopping $15 to fill up the commuter car (92' Saturn). Talk about volatile commodity prices.

I paid $1.97 per gallon here in Mass yesterday and in some areas of the state the prices are 10 to 15 cents cheaper. I can almost fill up my car (when it's near empty) for $20.00. For some odd reason, I actually feel guilty about that. I picked up my season pass today at my local hill and they said that season pass sales are above last year's total at this time. Maybe the crappy economy hasn't hit skiers yet.

I know why you feel guilty. At $1.50 the price of gas doesn't cover the cost to humanity. I feel guilty too.

I filled up today - $15. I think I paid $1.69.

Last time I filled up - about 6 weeks ago it was $36.

Low price in Ithaca today is $2.17...we have yet to break in below the $2 mark. But if you go 50 miles in any direction, you can find gas for less than $2

When I was in NJ 2 weeks ago, gas was $1.71 and I was thrilled...it's probably much less already.
