Finally, in Quebec, Mont-Saint-Sauveur will reopen this Saturday and Sunday for one final weekend of skiing and riding.
Almost entirely fixed... Check the other threat. MSS is hoping to re-open next weekend, it was added on their website.

As long as you have a space ship to get there.

If you're me and you live in NYC, would you A) get in a car and drive a whole day to ski one day at sugarloaf? Or B) get in a plane fly 4 hours (granted with airport included more like 6 1/2) and arrive in Utah and hit snowbird?
Patrick can argue with me all he wants on this, but for a heck of a lot of people on the EC Sugarloaf is too far.
I concede that Sugarloaf is far from NYC, however it's one thing to keep hammering about it. The information is out there, it's one thing to say that it's too far
for me, it's another to say that you need a space ship to get there.
Like everything, the definition of distance, cold, great varries from one person to the next. Many people in Ottawa would say a daytrip to Tremblant is too far, let alone Lake Placid. The Gaspe/Chic Chocs is far for many people in Quebec, but some people from NY and VT still go. All a matter of personally taste, Tony is willing to make a few weekend trips to Mammoth. Yeah, I went to Mammoth from Ottawa in June twice. We skied at Bridger Bowl where he thought it was cold... I didn't. Definition again.
This isn't aimed specifically at you Rob, but more on the everyday people I see. People would seem to always look for an excuse in not going things. Saying that the Loaf is too far might discourage some. Excuse for not getting things done: it's not possible, it's too far, it's too cold, I don't have the money, etc. Heck I beat that many people outhere would used the money excuse for not going to South America are probably richer than I am (and I've been the last 3 years). I always say, if you want to go and that is what you want to do, go. The FIS guys (mentioned a few times) which a few of them write here like GPetrics and Salida are living the dream. If that is what you really want to do more than anything, just do it!!!
