As for the slides, I don't have any yearly data. The posts are basically
correct. Some years, they have not opened. About 6 years ago, the slides had
a banner season with bountiful snow, especially in march, and no mixed
precipitation. It's that consistency of snow/weather that dictates the fate
of the slides.
As for its severity, there is definitely steeper stuff around the country to
ski. But it's the au naturel sense of the setting that mother nature has
provided and asks us to negotiate.
