Sunday River is now open

Don't look too much at the Colorado race, because you might miss someone opening close to you. :stir:

Thanks for the info Admin, FTO is the great. =D>

Busy weekend in-store.

Sunday River is open.
Ottawa Ski Club's 100th Anniversary banquet.
Ottawa Ski Show.

I'll probably do 2 out of 3.

Here is a story by Anne Heggtveit taken on Yahoo News.

Very possible by next weekend, perhaps, but that will depend largely upon next week's weather.

I was sitting in some ridiculous meeting this afternoon, not really paying attention. Pretending to be deep in thought, but fiddling with my crackberry.

Looked at Facebook and saw admins post about The Riva.

Big SMILE.

Gotta say it's pretty darn exciting.

Ski season is way better than whatever you call the rest of the year.

Glad that I'm not the only one guilty of that!

CAN'T WAIT!!!! tomorrow should be fun after another night of snow pounding and light winds, a high of 50 and sun tomorrow. spring skiing in october with great coverage!

I went out Sat aftenoon and Sunday morning. I hit it nicely as it softened up sat afternoon. Great day. Just what you expect in October. Glad I had an option. Sunday was a bit busier, but Punch came on line and that was goomed smooth in sections nicely. Great to be out. Many thanks for the efforts.

HOW'D I MISS YA BOB?!

the girls and i had fun on both trails. upper sunday punch was the preferred run out of the 2. fun to hop the pipes to get to it. everything softened by 11am or so. bumps on t2 got really nice!

hopefully they'll get opened back up in a few weeks.

I agree about Punch. I still am holding out hope for this Sat and Sunday. I don't think they know yet. Lets see if they can make some snow Friday afternoon and night.

temp-ting

looks like friday night could be cold enough to get the guns cranking again. sat too.

Given the water capacity and close spacing of snow guns I'm not surprised at all that SR will occasionally beat Loveland or A-Basin to the punch. In general I'm not impressed with snowmaking coverage or capacity at Loveland and A-Basin. They get a trail or 2 open in October, yet median percents open at Thanksgiving are a modest 23% at Loveland and a paltry 7% at A-Basin.

I will be up real late Friday night.
Doing the Hike for a cure. If they are open I 'll do a couple quick runs first Saturday am.

Sunday I will go out for a few hours, but I have to get home for Halloween. One of those weekends where I will drive more than I ski.

I have a green coat blue hemet, Very short. sx11 atomic boards. I am the one throwing out candy to the lifties.

i think i was behind you getting on the lift sunday morning.

i'll be probably in a blue coat with a k2 pom pom hat and on k2 backlashes. mr labonte will be with me. if you here someone with a voice that carries from jordan to whitecap, that's the famous "lift line" labonte.

rog

I might be alone. Some of the crew will be sleeping late after the Party at the funnix on Sat. I hope to drag my snowboarding son along. K-22 pom pom. Got it

I forgot to comment that SR's recent commitment to the early openings makes Patrick's Octobers a lot less speculative now than I thought in the early years of his streak.

Going back a few posts, I don't recall saying SR can't open in a short period. Just that I doubted that it would be an 18" base that went edge to edge in such a short time. I didn't see any pics attached to disprove my hypothesis yet...

I'd love to be proven wrong...

Btw, hot week in florida this week ;)
