Hi,

I going to Tremblant tomorrow, I have a few vouchers left for Trembalnt's last day of the season. Anyone interested to join me, send me an email. Click on the name to get the address.

SKI SEASON ENDS WITH A BANG?????

Instead of writing a report on how great (or bad) skiing was at Tremblant yestarday, I am at home waiting for a call from the insurance company.

Instead of taking a high-speed gondola, I ended up taking a high-speed ambulance.

My skiing season is on hold for now, definately not skiing next weekend, and the planned treak to Sunday River/Tucks the following weekend is all up in the air. We will see how fast I will recover from the whip latch(sp?) and the pain. I have already been to the chiropractor and will return in 2 days.

Left early Sunday morning for Tremblant, stopped at a red light 5 minutes from home, I was rear ended by someone who didn't see the red light and didn't see me!!! The guy didn't even brake. Needless to say that I need to mend and the car needs to be repaired. The bumper and truck are somewhat smashed in. The Thule ski rack and box moved backward by 6 inches due to the impact.

I was lucky, I was alone and my daughters were not with me at the time. Morgane initially wanted to come to Tremblant with me. As I mentioned here before, never take anything for granted in your ski season and in life.

OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ishhhhhh, poor you, I hope you won't keep some aches too long.

Definitively, there is some stupid persons on the roads. Especially as missing a red light and a car stopped is really not normal.

Anyway, I hope that you'll be back on your skis for the end of season at Sunday River or Ste-Anne or so.

Yow!It's amazing how fast your life can change by something out of your control.Sorry to hear about the whiplash.I'm sure you're grateful it wasnt worse.Did you see the car coming?
((*
*))NHPH

Thanks Franks,

Chiropractor said this morning I might be okay for skiing in two weeks (he knows me well enough), hiking and skiing Tucks is another mater all together. Besides the back, neck pain and the massive headaches, walking is a bit difficult this morning.

I am taking this one day at a time, no need to start worrying about a potential trip in two weeks. Anyway, he and doctor at the hospital said that the next 48 hours are going to be a bit rough.

For my skiing season, it stands still at 37. Yesterday I was going to reach 38 before the accident and tie last year total (year off work on parental leave) and I though that I was going to reach 40 before the end of my season for the first time in over 13 years.

Just spoke to the insurance company, I have to bring my car to the garage now.

Really a too bad story.....

I wish you a very fast recover and I sincerely hope that you'll be ok to do some decent skiing before the season ends !!

Good courage for the next 48 hours !!!!

Thanks NHPH,

I was looking at the light to change and listining to person talking on the radio, then there was a huge BANG.

I stayed in the car for maybe 15-30 seconds (i don't really now), then I got up to see what happened and to make sure that the driver didn't leave the scene. I was a bit woosy when I got out and sat down on my bumper. I asked a witness to call the Police. The guy (he got out after me) that ran into me kept asking me if I was going to be okay and that he was sorry. I guess some people are still sleeping/day dreaming early on Sunday morning?

I don't know what I would've done if I saw him coming, if I got out of his way by trying to turn into the intersection he might've killed myself or someone else in the intersection. I might've ended up worse off, it is probably better that I didn't see it coming.

The only thing I know was that the driver next to me said to the guy that ran into me didn't slow down and that my car ended up 30 feet further. Lucky that the stop line on the street are further back from the intersection (left space for the 18 wheelers to turn). The intersection is the first one in Quebec after crossing the bridge from Ottawa-Hull Chaudiere Bridge. 5 minutes from my home and 5 minutes from Quebec's Autoroute 50.

I noticed this morning, that there is blue paint on my exhaust pipe!!! I was just amazed when I saw my Thule and the box 6 inches further back on the roof (the paint on the roof/side were the rack was is all scratched up).

"he might've killed myself"

I meant killed himself or someone else.

Frank, I don't really care of my ski season now (Gee, I must've back my head really hard). I just happy to be alive and that I was able to walk away without any serious injuries.

Thanks again to everyone.

Geeez, I should really re-read my post!!!

I don't really care about my ski season now. GEE, I'VE MUST'VE BANG MY HEAD REALLY HARD. I am just happy to be alive...

I really enjoy seeing the posts from GOS, Pipeline, Tucks and King Ravine. Frank, the size of you're pics are too big.

Keep on the good reports and skiing everyone.

What are you talking about ?

I've just taken a look and the average size of my pics is less big than the ones of Lftgly in the Gulf Of Slides.

(If you talk about the conversation of the Massif du Sud) The average size is 35kb and there is 8 pics, so 280kb which should be open within 1 minute with a dial-up connection. It actually takes me less than 5 seconds with the DSL.

Anyway, I understand for sure that today you more think to your life than your ski season. I'm sure you'll be back on your feet fastly. After this accident, I'm sure you will spend a lot of time with your family and will enjoy the life more than ever !

Wishing you (and secondly and less importantly your car) a speedy recovery, Patrick.

Thanks Marc,

Sorry Frank, the first time I looked at the Massif du Sud story I had "Your Image Here" instead of the pics.

Huhhhhhh ?? serious ?
May be while I was posting them !?

Weird thing !

Last year, it was arriving sometimes that the poster was seeing his pics, but not the other ones until someone looked twice or answered into the conversation. After that, everyone were seeing the pics (SOMETHING LIKE THAT)

Truly a weird thing.

Anyway, good thing if it's correct now ! Especially as it was an incredible trip !
