Eastern NoAm Weather 2008-09

Anthony...I've proven yet again that Americans can be self-centered and clueless.

And in doing so demonstrated one of the "bug fixes" of last night's forum software upgrade -- changing the title as Harvey44 did changes the title on the topic page, too.

Flew in along the Eastern Labrador Coast on Friday afternoon as you can see the lakes are freezing up , so the cold air is on the way . This week should give us a good freeze, if nothing else.

Hopefully that'll turn into something more north and east on Tuesday. I'll have to check the Environment Canada website in the morning.

Actually Ottawa is expected to be hit...great, I took the day off tomorrow for a test drive. The last time I test drove the Toyota, it's was snowing hard. Hard to get a great feel for the car when you're driving on a snow covered road.

I believe the snow is heading your way Marc.

And so is rain on Wednesday, apparently.

FWIW, the Environment Canada website sucks. I'm used to the U.S. National Weather Service where I can get pinpoint digital forecasts for specific locations and elevations, etc. The best I can seem to do on EC is look up the text forecasts for Quebec City and Baie St.-Paul and extrapolate between the two. Awful.

I know....Blame it on drastic deficit cutting governments in the 80s and 90s.

This EC weather station might be the best for Le Massif. I believe the weather station is placed next to Highway 138 not far from Le Massif.

North side weather can be surprisingly different...hoping MSA gets smart and start opening stuff + you get a good amout if snow.

um, I did not make any of the other posts in this thread, and I am quite surprised to see that someone is posting with my login

I suppose I need to change my password, but yeesh, why would someone hack into my log in

WHO IS IT????

COME FORWARD!!!

Lest anyone think that the security of these forums is compromised, please be aware that the poster quoted above is apparently a few french fries short of a Happy Meal. :-" I've checked and the IP addressing of the suspect posts has been traced back to her work computer.

Apparently county civil servants in NY are allowed to drink on the job.

They apparently can't read maps either.

I have no idea what you are talking about. what does any of this have to do with me reading maps?

FWIW, there is no heat in my office at present and my fingers and toes are cold. I'm sure my brain is freezing, but I have no idea what you are talking about?

Does this thread need a new title?

Admin's link may refer to Sharon's map-reading ability, but nowhere do I find her complaint of a hijacked user ID. Except maybe for the cryptic "nevermind." Perhaps the post in question has been deleted.

the map he's referring to is in a different thread in a different forum...which is why I'm confused

upon further inspection I see that Amy's place is just a few blocks from Wasatch blvd, but if we go out her road the southern direction is puts us on Wasatch not far from the road block. I could not tell on this map, due to the lack of road names and a scale where exactly this would be. I jumped to a conclusion before I got all the information.

SInce you mentioned it, I googled her address and was able to see that her road is further down than I thought.

Also, I don't usually drive much in SLC, I get driven, so I haven't totally picked up the specifics of the geography there. I just knew that her street goes out to Wasatch and the bus picks us up at the "wetland" or "swamp" as they call it.

See what you miss by living on the West Coast.

I gotta be honest with you...this wasn't exactly what I envisioned when I started this thread. :-k :D

Hey, why not start a new thread with new weather. I saw the post above it (Gore getting 10" of snow) and got excited, then realized that was posted in November.

Fresh thread for fresh weather please. Thanks.
