Snow Snorkels for New Jersey this winter?

Tony,

Sorry for confusing the 7s with s7. It's comparing a yard stick to a surf board. I once had a pair of the 7s in a 203cm with MRRs. The s7 was ripping on the groomers and hardpack too. Truely a real ego-boosting ski. I agree that I had good luck this year. I was in Colorado (Silverton) in the second week of March and had great skiing. And at Vail in the third week of February (business meeting) and had great conditions then too.

I am definitely due for a bad season next year. I'll alert everyone on my travel plans so they can avoid those dates next year.

FYI on Joe Bastardi's Accuweather blog he's calling for a noticeable hot spell this June but a very cold winter in 2010-11. PDO is the main driver of the latter in his opinion. While I've oft expressed skepticism of the predictions more than a couple of weeks out, I think it's only fair to start keeping track of them over time. If some degree of accuracy can be demonstrated over several seasons, then we ought to give them more credibility.

BBD lives in MASH. You can stick a fork in his daytrip ski season by the end of March most years. What people like ice and JSpin are doing is about as relevant to people in NYC and south as admin & company's reports are to us in SoCal. Nice reading about, but rarely likely to influence our personal ski decisions.

Here's the link to Joe Bastardi's video blogs:

He's also calling for a big Atlantic hurricane season in 2010.

FYI the El Nino (as measured by MEI) dropped from 1.383 in FEB/MAR to .875 in MAR/APR. Bastardi is boasting that he made that call in February. Of course we're not sure whether he made the call prematurely last October. At any rate our spring is when most El Ninos break up. Bastardi says a coming swing toward La Nina will contribute to both the big hurricane season and the cold 2010-11 winter.

I'm now ready for the warm weather. I'm looking forward to sea kayaking and beach days now. As far as Mt. Washington is concerned, I'm sure the skiing is fine, but frankly, at this point I think my brain has gone to warm weather mode.

So I won't even talk about the Chic Chocs. Unfortunately, unpleasant stuff is keeping me away this Spring. Hoping to hear from Lucky.

Here in SoCal that is a patently false concept. :stir: We believe in multitasking out here (both pics from 1/26/08):

Yeah, but you guys don't have sidewalks, and with the traffic to get from the mountains to the sea, you might as well fly to Utah.

Just curious about the no sidewalks, where'd you get that from? Is it an inside joke I'm not in on?

Sidewalks are overrated.

What about sidewalls?

Tony, James isn't here, so I'll be the Eastern throll. "Stop going to all got heli, catskiing trips and feed that kid". :troll: (I didn't start, I believe James posted that the last time you posted that pic).

How did I end up in this? Take responsibility for your own trolls.

brilliant!

oh btw, we may have not needed snorkels on mt washington yesterday, but the corn was the finest ever found. colder temps and snow up high on the way may buy us a little bit more time.

Apparently, I missed that pic the first time it was posted. Does anyone know how I can return to that state of blissful ignorance?
