Rezidor Opening New Radisson Ski Resort Hotel in the Ukraine

Polianytsia, Ukraine – The Rezidor Hotel Group, a worldwide hotelier based in Brussels, Belgium, will launch its first ski resort in the Ukraine, the company announced this week. The doors of the 252-room Radisson Blu Resort, Bukovel are expected to open in time for the 2011-12 ski and snowboard season.

“We are delighted to have signed a further property in Ukraine which is together with Russia and the further CIS countries one of our key areas for future business development. And at the same time we are pleased to add a new resort to our growing portfolio of contemporary and stylish mountain- and beach resorts across Europe, Middle East and Africa,” said Kurt Ritter, president & CEO of Rezidor.

Located in the village of Polianytsia in the country’s Ivano-Frankivsk region, Bukovel is the newest and generally considered to be the Ukraine’s most modern ski resort. It is situated in the Carpathian Mountains and offers dramatic snow-capped peaks and untouched nature. Slopes are available for all levels of skiers and the ski season stretches from the beginning of December to mid-April. For non-skiers, Bukovel offers hot springs and mineral waters for both health and recreational purposes.

The Radisson Blu Resort, Bukovel will feature 252 rooms and a full complement of food and beverages, including several restaurants, a lobby bar, a cigar lounge, and a night club. To attract conferences and events, 1,400 square meters of meeting space is planned including a ballroom. Leisure facilities will include a kids club, a game room, and retail shops. Finally, for recuperation after a long-day of skiing, there will be a 2,000 square meter spa and wellness complex with an indoor pool, steam rooms, saunas, fitness and treatment rooms.
