Oehagen and Loeseth Top Australia New Zealand Cup Slalom Races

Methven, New Zealand – After several days of waiting out challenging weather, the Australia New Zealand Cup (ANC) Races finally went ahead Wednesday with won by Sweden’s Johan Oehagen and Nina Loeseth of Norway topping the women’s field.nOehagen stopped the clock with a time of 1:26.46, followed by the U.S.A.’s Mark Engel securing silver in 1:28.96. Luke Laidlaw, of Australia, secured bronze in 1:29.00.

New Zealand’s Tim Cafe placed highest amongst the kiwi men, finishing sixth with a time of 1:29.71.

Loeseth won the women’s competition with a time of 1:27.56. Slovakia’s Barbara Kantorova secured silver with 1:29.75 while Moe Hanaoka of Japan secured bronze with 1:30.45.

New Zealand’s Lucie Tait-Jamieson was the top placing kiwi woman, taking eighth with a time of 1:46.40.

The ANC at Mt. Hutt continues Thursday with super G.
