American Airlines Flying Non-stop from Dallas to Crested Butte Next Ski Season

Crested Butte, CO – The Rural Transportation Authority (RTA) and Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) today announced the return of direct, daily nonstop jet service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Colorado’s Gunnison/Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) on American Airlines throughout the 2011-12 ski and snowboard season.

American Airlines will fly a Boeing-757 round trip daily from Dallas/Fort Worth to Gunnison/Crested Butte Regional Airport.  Air service begins Thursday, December 15th, 2011 and will conclude Monday, April 2nd, 2012, providing nearly 20,000 in-bound seats for winter travelers.  DFW, an American Airlines hub, offers regularly scheduled direct service and connections to over 200 cities worldwide.

“We are excited to make this timely announcement as we prepare for the 2011-2012 winter season,” said Daren Cole, vice president of sales and marketing for CBMR.  “Consistency in our air service is very important. We have loyal guests in Dallas and connecting cities who rely on air travel to visit Gunnison and Crested Butte every winter and we are eager to welcome them back.”

Flights will leave DFW daily at 1:15 p.m., arriving in GUC at 2:15 p.m. Return flights will leave GUC at 3:15 p.m., arriving at the gate at DFW at 6:10 p.m.

The Gunnison/Crested Butte Regional Airport is located in Gunnison, Colo., a 30-minute drive from Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Shuttle service and car rentals are available.
