Courchevel, France – Despite winter’s tardy arrival in the French Alps, the International Ski Federation (FIS) confirmed over the weekend that conditions are ready for women’s World Cup technical ski races this weekend.

In a process known as “snow control,” FIS officials validated conditions on Courchevel’s Emile Allais run, where Saturday’s giant slalom and Sunday’s slalom will be held.
“It is a great relief to all the teams who have worked day and night for several days to ensure the technical constraints of such a competition,” says Nathalie Faure Bernoud, press officer for for the resort in France’s Savoie region. “Despite unusual early winter weather conditions, Courchevel has met this challenge and prepares more than ever this ski celebration around the world best skiers.”
Many activities are planned in the Trois Vallées resort surrounding the competition, including aerobatic demonstrations, a raptor show, an ice skating gala, concerts and more.
