Ski Utah Coat Drive to Help Locals in Need Stay Warm This Winter

Salt Lake City, UT – The days are getting shorter and the nights are cooler, and snow is already falling in Utah. With winter’s cold temperatures, however, the need for warm jackets has never been greater for some of Utah’s population.

Ski Utah and its 14 member resorts are collecting clean, gently used coats and jackets as part of the first annual Suit up for Snow project. Coats of all sizes are welcome and will be distributed to The First Chair and The Road Home. The First Chair’s mission is to help children from low-income households access learn-to-ski or snowboard programs. The Road Home operates out of The Salt Lake Community Shelter and provides basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter, while connecting people with resources to help integrate them back into the community.

“Ski Utah and our resort partners are excited to give back to our local community, while continuing to raise awareness among locals and visitors about all of the exciting new pass options,” said Ski Utah President Nathan Rafferty. “‘Both First Chair and The Road Home are great organizations for Ski Utah to partner with and we look forward to collecting as many coats as possible through the Suit up for Snow project.”
