Telluride, CO – This winter, for the first time Telluride Helitrax will offer helicopter skiing trips from Denver. Avid skiers and snowboarders will be able to fly out of Denver/Centennial airport into Telluride Regional Airport for a weekend of heli-skiing and be back in Denver in time for work on Monday.
The base package is based on a group of four and includes a round-trip private fixed-wing charter flight from Centennial Airport to Telluride Regional Airport, one day of helicopter skiing with Telluride Helitrax, and one night of lodging, one breakfast and spa access at the Peaks Resort and Spa. A sample itinerary will depart Denver early Saturday morning to arrive in Telluride in time for a full day of heli-skiing including six runs totaling approximately 10,000 to 14,000 vertical feet of skiing. The day ends with an après ski hosted by Helitrax.
Sunday is considered a free day, but guests are encouraged to ski lift-served at Telluride Ski Resort or opt for a second day of heli-skiing. A typical return flight would depart Telluride Sunday afternoon to arrive in Denver before sunset.
The base package is catered to a weekend getaway, but the trip can be customized with add ons. Helitrax can simply add more days of helicopter skiing, accommodate longer trips and modify air travel for groups larger than four people.
“We created this package to fill a void for skiers in Denver that are looking for something new or don’t have the time to take a helicopter skiing vacation in Alaska or British Columbia,” said Joe Shults, Director of Telluride Helitrax. “The package flexibility allows a varying demographic to experience heli-skiing and more in Telluride this winter.”
Pricing for the base package starts at $2,650 per person ($10,600 for a group of four). For more information visit www.helitrax.com or call (970) 728-8377.
