Festival of Flight at Utah Olympic Park Tomorrow to Honor Memory of Jeret Peterson

Park City, UT – On Saturday, Utah Olympic Park will host the “Festival of Flight” from noon until the completion of the 5 p.m. Flying Ace All Stars Freestyle Pool Show at the 2002 Olympic facility in Park City.  The event is scheduled to include the Splash pool contest from noon to 3 p.m. that will be held in the competitive spirit of Jeret “Speedy” Peterson, who died Monday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Long Standing Competition on the K120 Jump will be held from 3 to 3:30 p.m.

In addition to Springer Tournee and pool competition activities, a full afternoon of excitement will take place at Utah Olympic Park beginning at noon including a free bounce house, free face painting, barbeque, beer garden, snow cones, freestyle pool competition and Nordic ski jump competition. Olympic mascots will be on site for the kids from 1 to 4 p.m.

Admission to all activities is free. There are charges for food, beverage and additional activities and Utah Olympic Park rides not on schedule.

The 2011 U.S. Ski Jumping/Nordic Combined Championships are taking place today at Utah Olympic Park, featuring Olympic gold and silver Nordic combined medalist Billy Demong and Park City’s Lindsey Van.
