Snowboarder Killed at Mount Hotham

Hotham Heights (VIC), Australia - An unidentified snowboarder was killed this afternoon after colliding with a tree at Mount Hotham ski resort in Australia.

The 36-year-old male victim, said to be from the Rosebud West suburb of Melbourne, lost control and struck a tree lining the intermediate Bushwhacker’s Run in the 2:40 p.m. incident. Police have yet to release the snowboarder’s name and indicate that the victim likely perished before ambulance crews arrived at the scene.

Rescue personnel were notified of the incident by a guest who witnessed the occurrence.
