- Thanks to an enormously long season, the Kazakhstan Winter Olympic Team's training ground at Chimbulak is one possibility for natural snow for most of the year. The lifts are normally closed from June through October, but heli-skiing is available on the nearby glaciers. Groups of up to 12 people pay $900 US for one day, and reservations must be made at least a week in advance.
