Continental Tire Extends Support for Ski Racing in Canada

Calgary (AB), Canada – Continental Tire Canada, Inc. is extending its partnership agreement with Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA), continuing to outfit team vehicles with tires and boosting support for the Lake Louise World Cup as well as the Coupe Nor-Am Cup ski race series.nContinental Tire, an Official and Event Level partner of ACA, also announced Friday that it will provide a financial contribution to Canada’s Alpine Ski Teams, enhancing their preparation for the 2011 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships next February.

“Continental Tire is very excited to once again be an official partner of the ACA. We look forward to another successful ski season and continuing our great relationship with the ACA. We would like to wish all the Canadian skiers the best of luck this season,” stated Continental Tire Canada’s Marketing Manager Terry Smouter.

“Continental Tire Canada Inc. is displaying clear leadership by continuing to provide Canadian athletes with the support that is required to achieve success in international competition. We applaud their continued commitment to ski racing in Canada and mutual interest in pursuing excellence beyond 2010,” said ACA President Max Gartner.

“The support of domestic race events, with their status as an official partner of the World Cup races in Lake Louise and presenting sponsorship of the Nor-Am Cup, will also play an important role in the growth of ski racing in Canada,” Gartner added.

The FIS World Cup in Lake Louise is scheduled to begin with men’s downhill and super G races Nov. 27 and 28 followed by women’s races Dec. 3 to 5. Canadian Coupe Nor-Am Cup race dates and locations will be announced later this fall.
