Briton Dies of Head Injuries Sustained in Skiing Fall in Austria

Obergurgl, Austria – A 55-year-old British woman has died in an Innsbruck hospital on Sunday a week after sustaining a head injury in a fall on the slopes of Obergurgl.nCarol Tolson, wife of British judge Robin Tolson from Lympstone, Devon, was skiing in Obergurgl last week when she lost her balance and fell. Her husband helped her to her feet and she complained of a headache before collapsing. She was transported to a hospital in Innsbruck, where she died seven days later of injuries sustained in the fall.

Tolson is the 31st person to die while skiing in Austria this season, doubling last season’s number of skiing fatalities in the country with two months left to go this winter.
