Kirkwood to Host Inaugural High Up Fest 2012

Kirkwood, CA – The inaugural High Up Fest, a one day musical event that will marry reggae with hip-hop and rock, will host a national line-up of musical acts at California’s Kirkwood Mountain Resort near Lake Tahoe on March 24.

Nationally acclaimed Reggae recording artist Collie Buddz will perform several of his solo hits at this year’s High Up Fest in addition to performing with his band, The New Kingston Band.  Buddz’s musical peers were so inspired by his single they created their own remixes of “Come Around” or joined Buddz on the official remix of the single including Busta Rhymes, Cypress Hill, Paul Wall, G-Unit and Shaggy.

Also joining the line-up, Philadelphia recording artists The Movement who will entertain fans with hits from their album “Set Sail” which has attained the No. 7 spot on iTunes Top 100 Reggae Albums. They have performed with Slightly Stoopid, The Wailers, Ludacris, Common, The Wu Tang Clan and 311.

National recording artist, Kelley James will also join the musical line up. Coming off a 31-city summer tour with OAR, James’ music is a collection of acoustic guitars, hip-hop beats, thoughtful lyrics, and freestyle flows. James released his latest EP, “The Recent Future” in June 2011, which carefully infuses pop melodies with laid-back hip-hop flows. He has shared the stage with Mike Posner, Kate Voegele T-Pain, Slightly Stoopid, SOJA, Joshua Radin, Shwayze, Sara Bareilles, Tyrone Wells, and LMFAO.

A third highly acclaimed national Reggae recording artist and DJ’s will be announced soon.
