Mammoth Lakes, CA – California’s Mammoth Mountain will stay open daily again this year for skiing and snowboarding through Memorial Day. The mountain enjoyed over 70 inches of snow in March, enabling the decision announced by resort officials on Tuesday.

“A series of March storms created the best conditions of the year and looking at the forecast they’re not done yet,” said Howard Pickett, CMO of Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. “Skiing and snowboarding on Memorial Day is practically a tradition in Mammoth and we look forward to continuing it this season.”
While the exact closing date isn’t set, Mammoth visitors are in for at least another two months of skiing and riding, entertainment and events, including:
- Easter at Mammoth, April 7-8, with activities for the whole family
- Springfest, April 20-22, featuring the annual Pond Skim followed by a performance from Neon Indian
- West Coast Invitational, May 4-5
- Memorial Day Madness, May 26 – 27
