Telluride Air Club Launched

Telluride, CO – As many of us dread traveling over the holidays, the newly launched Telluride Air Club aims to transform traditional charter flight operations into the Telluride Regional Airport.

Telluride is a world-renowned resort town and ski destination located in southwestern Colorado. Nestled at the end of a box canyon, there is only one road into and only one road out of Telluride. The Telluride Regional Airport, approximately three miles from Telluride proper, does not currently offer commercial flight service, forcing travelers to utilize the Telluride/Montrose Regional Airport 65 miles away. Many regard Telluride’s remote location as both its blessing and its curse.

The new Telluride Air Club has a membership format that is aimed at offering private jet service at a fraction of customary costs. With a membership, Air Club affiliates are offered discounted pricing on key routes between Telluride and Texas (Houston, Dallas or Austin) or Denver. Beginning with these four key routes, the Telluride Air Club is looking to expand over time with subsequent routes to additional key markets, such as Phoenix and Los Angeles.

In addition, the Telluride Air Club offers members a variety of perks, including a virtual club house, discount rates on customer charter and perhaps most importantly, the opportunity to aggregate travel with other members who have a similar itinerary. Such ride sharing reduces the cost of a Telluride Air Club flight even more significantly.

“Telluride is quite simply a place that, if you’ve been, it’s hard to resist returning, again and again. If you’re lucky enough to live here, you’re normally longing to get back,” says Michael Martelon, President & CEO of the Telluride Tourism Board. “The Telluride Air Club, operated by Mountain Aviation, is a concept that allows charter air customers to do just that – it’s a win-win for the destination and those looking for the most direct access from point A to our community, and vice versa.”

So bring your pets, bring your skis and forget the TSA lines. Business or family memberships for up to five people start at $6,000 per year for turbo-prop service, or $15,000 for jet aircraft. For more information visit tellurideairclub.com.
