Kids are King at Boyne Mountain’s Kids’ Festival Weekend

Boyne Falls, MI – Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls is rolling out the red carpet for kids with an action-packed weekend full of entertainment, activities, games, and fun.  Kids’ Festival Weekend is scheduled for March 11-13.

The weekend begins with a kick-off party on Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa featuring face painting, juggling, a magician, snacks and drinks.  The evening also includes a Spaghetti Dinner with Fritz, the resort’s mascot, in Stein Eriksen’s, and a host of complimentary activities including horse-drawn wagon rides, board games, story time, a family movie, and a bonfire and s’mores.

Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, youngsters can bounce, jump and climb to their heart’s content in the inflatable obstacle course, bounce house, extreme dual air jumpers, and rock climbing wall located in the Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa courtyard.  Families and friends can gather in the Village for a cookout, snow bar with kiddie cocktails, face painting, and live entertainment from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or partake in the Splatmaster paintball event open to ages four and up with 12 target practice shots for $5.  Kids can also participate in a Cookies & Canvas painting event from noon to 2 p.m., cooking class from3 to 4 p.m., après ski dance party from 4 to 6 p.m., and a tubing party with music and a bonfire from 5 to 7 p.m.

On Sunday, head to the hills to compete in a variety of fun races. Ages 4-20 can race in the Silly Slalom, Seal Slide, Ski Race, and Egg Race. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Skier Services building, and awards take place following the events at 3 p.m.  Also on Sunday, there’s cupcake decorating from 10 to 11 a.m., and kid-friendly mini spa services from 1 to 5 p.m. at The Spa at Boyne Mountain’s Pearls and Petals event.

Boyne Mountain is also home to Michigan’s largest indoor waterpark, Avalanche Bay, and festival goers can visit the park 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
