Wichita, KS – Accompanying a friend on their family vacation to Colorado’s Breckenridge Ski Resort has turned tragic for a Kansas teen.

Tess Smith, 15, and a , a sophomore at Wichita Northwest High School, is being kept on life support at Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colo. pending donation of her organs.

Smith was being tended to by ski patrollers for a broken leg from Friday afternoon’s accident at Breckenridge when she slipped out of consciousness and never reawakened. No other details regarding the accident are yet available.

A GoFundMe page has been established to assist Smith’s family with medical expenses and funeral services.
